Great Weekend!

January 28, 2007

Hey Everyone! Well, Thursday went GREAT with Cary! Her filly is amazing! I couldn’t believe how quickly she picked up everything! Cary did an excellent job and just rode her filly and let her learn and she was very light handed and allowed her mare to just be easy and work. I was very very proud of them both!!! I still can’t get over how quickly she picked up every thing, what a NEAT filly!!! Cary and I rode Jammie Tinkers 5 year old The Last JH (he is on BARRELHORSEWORLD.COM for sale) he was sooo laid back and really has talent to boot, what a BIG MOTOR!!!!! I am going to be very excited for whoever buys this gelding, what a STEAL!!! He really started to limber up and come around his barrels and he uses his hind end great! I was very impressed with the way he gets that back leg up under him and comes around (WOW!!!!) Mordis and I are just riding. We both need some tuning so we are going slow. We are loping Circles, side passing, picking up and switching leads and staying focused on using our HINNY… I broke out the draw reins today and we rode very very very very good!!! So I am just soooo stoked and can’t wait to get back to running! SILVER CUP HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!

Tara and Mordis!

Mordis and I are going to ride at the Beggs indoor arena tomorrow in the AM w/ Cary Merritt. Cary is bringing her filly up for a ride. I am just so stoked. Cary is one of those people who makes you feel very positive about everything and she has such a good karama to her. I love being around people like her! I can’t wait to see her filly, I have heard a lot about her and I think Cary has a great seat so I am very vey vey very excited to see this filly now and then again in 30 days. Megan Oglesby and Charger ran at the top of the 3-D tonight, WOO HOO!!! GO MEGAN GO! I am so proud for her Jackie is there for a clinic and I am really eager to see how they run when she leaves Jackie is such a great teacher!!! Mordis started Ulcer Guard today for Ulcer Prevention, we are threw with the Ulcer Paste 300 and I go to the Doctor Tuesday for my x-rays on foot/ankle and Mordis goes to scope to see how the ulcer is doing (hopefully it’s gone) if it isn’t we will put him back on the Ulcer Paste for 2 more weeks. (I think he is okay he looks SO much better and feels so much better! Ulcers are very very hard on horses) This weekend Kyle is running in Louisiana… But, he is coming here Friday to get his new Futurity Prospect he bought, she came from my father her name is Feet For The Dash (she is really nice).

Tip For The Day is for the People going to the BBR
BLEECH – You can use Bleach to disinfect your stalls before you move in. Take water and bleach and spray your walls down and the floor of the stall before you put your shavings in. Also DO NOT use the community wate hose, or leave your out to become the community water hose, some people will stick those hoeses into their buckets and their horse is sick… Then you use is and you have a sick horse who gets your other horses sick!!! So Bleach Your Stalls and Your Buckets and Don’t Share Hoses! That way you won’t come home with SICK horses!!!

A New Week.

January 23, 2007

Manic Monday!!! lol… Today has been a long day for me, I have been on the telephone all day long but I am finally sat down for a minute and I am ready to take a breath! So, I spoke with someone today from Intervet and we discussed worming. Here at SuperStar Barrel Horses we Panacur Power Pac twice a year April and October. But we also use Zimectrin gold twice a year in January and in July. We use twop types of wormers because they kill different types of worms. Please visit www.getrotationright.com for more information on wormers. Panacure Power Pac and Power Dose are both Intervet Products.

Kyle Purchased Feet For The Dash from my Father for his Parents. I am very excited for them, Kyle and I knew she was the best 3 year olds out there. I am excited for Debbie and James this mare will make them a fantastic Futurity Horse.

My father Purchased 2 horses this past weekend from the Heritage Sale #230 Six Gun Stoli, and #1234 Jet Dashin Royalty.

The Oglesbys where here for the sale and I was so excited to get to spend time with Megan. I can’t wait for her to come down this summer to ride with me. She is such a GREAT horseman and a really sweet person! I can’t wait for summer now!!! I’m trying to talk her into getting a Futurity Horse for her self, there are some good Futurities in Arizona!!

I rode Mordis today for about 10 minutes in the indoor pen here at home, then I took him to the space in front of the barns where it was a little muddy to walk around. It went really good, I was so proud of Mordis. He was so good with me, he knows I am hurt and he tried very hard to behave and was very careful with me. I was very emotional about him taking such good care of me. He didn’t so much as pick his head up. He was so good with me and so easy going and laid back today, and those are two this Mordis NEVER IS especially after a week off!!!!! We are going to finish his first does of Ulcer Guard this Friday and start him on the feeed threw version of it, and we are going to our first Jackpot next week. (I AM SO EXCITED!) But, we will be going slow very slow. Mordis is glad to back in business and he loved on me for an hour today. I have to have Dads hired boys to saddle him and unsaddle him, because I can’t. Mordis snorted the entire time he was being saddled and even jumped sideways and dumped my saddle off, we was roten to saddle so I had to stand by him and pet him while they saddled him so he would stand to be saddled… After we got him saddled he bucked on the lead rope the whole way to the indoor pen and Dad came out of the barn to watch me ride, he was very up set I was trying to ride he stood by the pen door the entire time I rode to make sure I was okay and stood in front of the barn when I rode in the front. But, Mordis was GREAT! Even Dad mentioned that he was so surprised he had never seen Mordis be so good. I brought him back to the barn and I almost couldn’t get off, He didn’t want anyone to HOLD him while I got off so I had to just WING it and land on my right leg with my left leg in the air. After I got off I was holing and I let Rick have him to lead him back the barn and Mordis walked 5 feet behind him snorting… Funny boy…… But, when they were done I hopped in his stall w/o my crutches (my crutches scare HIM!!!!!!!) and I brushed him and had to lean on him. He stood there so good looking at me like I CAN NOT MOVE Mom needs me to Stand Up! He stood perfectly still and let me brush him and when I was done I leaned on the fence and he rubbed his head on me very easily. When I came home I cired, He was just so good with me and I was just so proud that Mordis and I have such a strong bond, I love my Mordis!

I hope all if well forevery one, and I can’t wait to get back in business!!!!! Take Care and I want to wish everyone going to the BBR Good Luck and please be safe!
